A reed switch sensor, also known as a magnetic switch, works by using a magnetic field to open or close a circuit. Two ferromagnetic reeds, sealed inside a glass tube, are attracted to each other when a magnet comes close, closing the circuit. When the magnet is removed, the reeds spring apart, opening the circuit again
